Amboy is also home to Amboy Crater.

Amboy, CA is home to Roy's Cafe and Motel. This place is number one of the Route 66 sites for appearances in videos, movies, commercials. This is the ONLY place to get gas while crossing the Mojave on this road. The entire town of Amboy was recently for sale. There's nothing here except this business and a post office. The motel is in the processed of being restored.

Ruins of the Roadrunner Cafe and Station that sports what was once a great neon sign. Dodge filmed a car commercial here in the 80's.

This is the site of a old rest stop for travelers entering the Mojave Desert. All that remains now are the footings for the concrete picnic tables that were once there. The plaques in this photo tell about the mountain ranges in the distance.

In California now!

One of 3 bridges that cross the Colorado River from Arizona to California. This bridge was the one that the Joads crossed in the Grapes of Wrath, the same that everyone escaping from the dust bowl used. It's not drivable now but it is used as a support for a gas line.
